The Farmhouse Guesthouse Covid-19 Risk Assessment and Guest Guidance
This risk assessment is to advise and protect the guests and owners of The Farmhouse Guesthouse against Covid-19. It is designed to highlight the potential dangers of the disease and the measures we have put in place to make our Bed and Breakfast a safe environment.
Prior to arrival all guests will be required to provide an arrival time as accurate as possible. This is to help ensure that we can continue to welcome guests in a relaxed and stress free manner without the worry of other guests arriving at the same time. If other guests do arrive at the same time they will be asked to wait in the dining room at a safe distance from other guests. Our preferred check in time remains between 4-6pm and we require notice if you expect to arrive outside of these times.
During these uncertain and ever changing times we strongly advise that guests research availability of local attractions and places to eat and book ahead prior to your stay to avoid disappointment due to reduced availability. If you require guidance we will endeavour to help.
On arrival all guests will be asked to wash their hands with the sanitizer clearly provided in the porch area. It is essential that every guest washes their hands every time they enter the building. Guest(s) will be shown to their room. We will limit the amount of interaction in line with social distancing guidance. Complimentary tea/coffee and cake will still be available at this time either in the dining room or guests room but in line with social distancing guidelines.
During your stay all guests will be asked to wait in their room, for others to either, enter the room they are staying in, or leave their room and landing area if they are going out. We are limiting the amount of rooms we let at one time to further reduce risk.
We will only service a room if you request us to do so at breakfast. We will only change towels that have been put on the floor in your ensuite shower area.
The cleaning procedures we use for the arrival of every new guest will not change in the ensuite area of the room as we clean everything thoroughly and to a high standard as part of our usual practise. We will introduce the use of a sterilization spray as part of our cleaning process in the bedroom area in addition to our usual cleaning routine.
All bedding and towels will be cleaned using a hot wash cycle after each departure.
We have made the decision not to remove DVDs, games and books to make to ensure the area remains welcoming but we will endeavour to sanitize them regularly- guests are welcome to use these if they choose to do so. Leaflets will be removed from all guest areas but will be available on request.
During the day guest areas (dining room, front porch, stairway and landing) will be cleaned and disinfected by us, after each guest use, so it is safe for others to use. We will maintain a continuous programme of wiping down regular use areas and items of contact throughout the day with a sterilizing cleaner. Each room has its own ensuite facilities so there is no risk through sharing of toiletries or bathroom facilities. We advise all guests to wash their hands regularly in line with government guidance using the handwash provided in your private ensuite.
Breakfast
We will ask guests to provide us with a breakfast time so we can maintain social distance in the breakfast room and avoid people arriving for breakfast at the same time. We will ask you to fill in a breakfast menu order form the night before, thus minimising social contact. We shall ask guests to keep to the same table each morning for breakfast throughout their stay as everything on the table will require cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing upon their departure, ready for new guests. We will keep contact to a minimum during breakfast service and will provide a totally table service menu. Our usual starter items will continue to be available on individual tables rather than a buffet basis. We are happy to extend the times of our breakfast service to between 7.45-9.15 to increase opportunities for guests to social distance safely.
